For its 2012 season, Tantrum has sought to strengthen its relationship with the city of Newcastle - and so this years theme is based around the city itself.

Working in close collaboration with the team at Tantrum and their amazing group of volunteers, I helped develop a series of artworks which tied performances and programs to specific areas of Newcastle - including the beaches, the rural outskirts and the industrial zones.

These concepts were expressed in textures and colours, and through photographs of actual students from the Tantrum workshops. A bespoke typeface based on urban typography from roadworks and street signs was used, and the entire season was tied together with a rich pastel pink - an attention-grabbing variation on the company's trademark colour.
