New Editions is the record label imprint of New Weird Australia.
In the tradition of great record labels such as ECM, Touch, Preservation and Ghost Box, which all have consistent and identifiable catalogues - I was charged with the task of developing a unique artwork system that would be used for all releases under the New Editions banner.
A grid template was constructed, and a library of images, shapes and textures was created. Graphics from this library are then combined to produce artwork. I collaborated closely with each band, who would contribute their own design elements to be incorporated in the artwork.
The project has since expanded its scope, and the grid artwork system has been superseeded, allowing for each release to have its own unique look.
